The company I work for (Kelly Services, Inc.) is sponsoring fund raising for Breast Cancer. It's being called "Shop for the Cure". One thing that makes me really proud of Kelly Services is the amount of fund raising we do as a company. It pretty much is throughout the year with the Susan B. Komen fund, the United Way and the March of Dimes, along with getting folks to donate blood for the American Red Cross. We also have a Kelly Relief Fund that focuses on those in need, like when our Kelly families were devastated by Hurricane Katrina, or when other countries have been devastated by earthquakes or hurricanes, or other natural disasters, we as a company give to help those in need. So when I can't get out to do volunteer work I try to get involved in the work activities if not directly involved, then giving to these worthwhile causes.
The "Shop for the Cure" event means that those items in my Zibbet shop will be part of this very worthwhile event. 20% of any sale will go directly to Susan B. Komen fund, and that means both my customers and myself will be giving to find a cure. As someone who has had three family members affected by this disease (my aunt died at 43, my grandmother had to have a mastectomy and my sister was diagnosed and had to undergo radiation), I feel very strongly about finding a cure.
December 6 through December 8th, anything in my Zibbet shop that is purchased, 20% goes towards the Susan B. Komen fund. So won't you "Shop for a Cure?"
